The Government of the Sudan affirms that the ratification
Mid-term
or non-ratification of any treaty is a sovereign matter to be
decided by the State. However, in order to provide
information about the measures that have been taken, we
should like to mention that many workshops have been held
to raise awareness of the Convention and to persuade the
active sectors of society to take a positive view of the
Convention. These activities are continuing and there is an
agreement between the Advisory Council for Human Rights
and the human rights department of UNMIS to carry out
joint work in 2007.
