RightDocs

About

United Nations Human Rights Council documentation plays an important role in advocacy and diplomacy.

It allows human rights defenders to identify allies, learn important historical context, and discover opportunities that can be leveraged to advance their causes.

Although these resolutions, amendments, decisions, presidential statements and reports are openly available online, they can be costly in time and resources to navigate, creating barriers to accessing this valuable information.

RightDocs aims to help by curating all of the documents that originate from the Human Rights Council into one easily searchable place.

The database is a project of HURIDOCS, an NGO that helps human rights groups gather, organise and use information to create positive change in the world. It was launched in 2016, with initial funding from the Permanent Mission of Denmark to the UN in Geneva and input from Universal Rights Group and others.

In 2021, HURIDOCS moved RightDocs to Uwazi, our flagship tool for organising collections of human rights information. We will continue to evolve the project based on feedback from diplomats, legal advocates, human rights practitioners and research.
