Summary
The present report is submitted pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 38/4,
in which the Human Rights Council decided to hold a panel discussion on the theme of
women’s rights and climate change: climate action, best practices and lessons learned,
during its forty-first session. The Council also requested the Office of the United Nations
High Commissioner for Human Rights to submit a summary report of the panel discussion
to the Human Rights Council at its forty-second session. The present report summarizes the
panel discussion on human rights and climate change that was held on 28 June 2019.
* Agreement was reached to publish the present report after the standard publication date owing to
circumstances beyond the submitter’s control.
