The report also provides an overview of the legal framework governing detention and an assessment of the human rights concerns arising from conditions in prisons and detention centres in the Islamic Republic of Iran in light of the country’s human rights obligations under international law. * Agreement was reached to publish the present report after the standard publication date owing to circumstances beyond the submitter’s control.
