In terms of joint programmes, the United Nations Indigenous Peoples’
Partnership initiative has prompted United Nations partners to come together in a
strategic manner, guided by the principles set forth in the Declaration and the ILO

international level and some successes at the country level. However, much remains to

Declaration. OHCHR continues to work in partnership with indigenous peoples, the
United Nations system and Member States to contribute to the promotion and full
application of the Declaration, as well as to the follow up on its effectiveness at the
national and local levels.
