A/HRC/14/35 The practices set out in this report provide a number of promising examples of sanctions for juvenile offenders that do not involve detention. Responses also highlighted the importance of the adoption of a comprehensive approach to juvenile justice at the national level, an approach urged by the Committee on the Rights of the Child in its general comment No. 10 on children’s rights in juvenile justice (2007). Finally, the report underlines the importance of a well-funded and functioning legal aid system (including for children) and of ongoing training on human rights protection for those actively involved in the administration of justice. 12 GE.10-13056
