In its resolution 42/6, the Human Rights Council requested the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to prepare a study, to be presented to the Council at its forty-fifth session, on the contribution of special procedures in assisting States and other stakeholders in the prevention of human rights violations and abuses. 2.
