The report contains a summary of the submissions received from Governments, non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders, as well as the main outcome of the discussions at the open-ended consultation held on 15 January 2009 in Geneva, with the participation of Member States, international and non-governmental organizations, experts and persons affected by leprosy. * The present report is submitted late in order to take into account the outcome of the open-ended consultation held on 15 January 2009, in accordance with Human Rights Council resolution 8/13, para. 4.
