A/HRC/45/16 and 2003/31 and Human Rights Council resolutions 6/4, 24/7 and 42/22, in which those bodies requested States to take account of the Working Group’s opinions and, where necessary, to take appropriate steps to remedy the situation of persons arbitrarily deprived of their liberty and to inform the Working Group of the steps they had taken. On the expiry of a 48-hour deadline following transmission of the opinion to the Governments concerned, the opinions were transmitted to the relevant sources. 6
