A/HRC/42/1 Cooperation with Georgia 38. Reference is made to the report of the High Commissioner on developments relating to and the implementation of Human Rights Council resolution 40/28 on cooperation with Georgia (A/HRC/42/34) (see para. 96 below). Cooperation with and assistance to Ukraine in the field of human rights 39. Reference is made to the oral presentation by the High Commissioner on the situation of human rights in Ukraine (see para. 102 below). 3. Promotion and protection of all human rights, civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, including the right to development Economic, social and cultural rights Environmentally sound management and disposal of hazardous substances and wastes 40. In its resolution 36/15, the Human Rights Council extended the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the implications for human rights of the environmentally sound management and disposal of hazardous substances and wastes for a period of three years, and invited the Special Rapporteur to report to the Council in accordance with its programme of work. The Council will consider the report of the mandate holder, Baskut Tuncak (A/HRC/42/41). Access to safe drinking water and sanitation 41. In its resolution 33/10, the Human Rights Council extended the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation, and requested the Special Rapporteur to continue to report to the Council on an annual basis. The Council will consider the report of the mandate holder, Léo Heller (A/HRC/42/47 and Add.1–3 and 5–7). Civil and political rights Human rights in the administration of justice, including juvenile justice 42. In its resolution 36/16, the Human Rights Council requested the High Commissioner to submit to the Council, at its forty-second session, a report on human rights in the administration of justice, in particular on violence, death and serious injury in situations of deprivation of liberty. The Council will consider the report of the High Commissioner (A/HRC/42/20) (see para. 24 above). Question of the death penalty 43. Pursuant to its resolution 36/17, the Human Rights Council will have before it the summary report of OHCHR on the biennial high-level panel discussion on human rights violations related to the use of the death penalty, in particular with respect to the rights to non-discrimination and equality, held at its fortieth session (A/HRC/42/25) (see para. 29 above). 44. In its decision 18/117, the Human Rights Council requested the Secretary-General to continue to submit a yearly supplement to his quinquennial report on capital punishment and the implementation of the safeguards guaranteeing protection of the rights of those facing the death penalty. In its resolution 37/16, the Council requested the SecretaryGeneral to dedicate the 2019 supplement to his quinquennial report on capital punishment to the consequences arising at various stages of the imposition and application of the death penalty on the enjoyment of the human rights of persons facing the death penalty and other affected persons, paying specific attention to the impact of the resumption of the use of the death penalty on human rights, and to present it to the Council at its forty-second session. The Council will consider the report of the Secretary-General (A/HRC/42/28) (see para. 30 above). 6
