A/HRC/42/14/Add.1 1. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has presented its third cycle universal periodical review report on May 14, 2019 to the Human Rights Council. During the review, 132 delegations made 327 recommendations. 2. Ethiopia highly values the importance of the UPR mechanism and attaches great importance to the recommendations posed by other countries in the mechanism. The recommendations have been carefully examined by an inter-ministerial team composed of relevant government institutions and coordinated by the Federal Attorney General. Moreover, a consultative forum has been held on the recommendations and all relevant government agencies at both federal and regional levels, NHRI, CSOs and academia have been consulted to provide input. 3. After the consultation and careful examination of the recommendations, Ethiopia has decided to accept 270 and note 57 of the 327 recommendations it received.
