See response to recommendation 79(g).
ICJ
While the OMP Act refers to the issuing of gender sensitive policies under Section 11 (c), it
makes no reference to a child-rights perspective.
The Office for Reparations Act however, under Section 2 (b) states that one of the objectives
of the Act is to facilitate and implement such Policies on reparations as approved by the
Cabinet of Ministers, by the Office for Reparations, including specialized policies on public
education, memorialization and on children, youths, women and victims of sexual violence
and persons with disabilities.
Moreover, under Section 11 (1) (f), the office is empowered to make rules and guidelines from
time to time which shall include gender and child responsive policies to be followed by the
Staff of the Office for Reparations relating to the exercise and performance of its powers and
functions.
Nevertheless, there is no public information on these policies being drafted as yet.
