The independent expert encourages the Peace Building Commission to continue supporting the Government of Burundi in disbursing the necessary funds to implement the development plan for 2007-2008. 94. The independent expert welcomes the establishment of BINUB, and commends the international community and civil society for their role in the protection and promotion of human rights and encourages them to strengthen their cooperation in this regard. 95. He urges the international community to press the Government of Burundi to complete investigation regarding the Gatumba massacre and to prosecute the perpetrators of the massacre. 96. The independent expert calls upon the international community to urge the Government to desist from taking measures, which may destabilize Burundi. -----
