In the report the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) sets out examples of technical assistance and advisory services it has provided, alone or with other United Nations entities, to promote and protect the rights of persons deprived of liberty in implementation of the United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners (the Nelson Mandela Rules) and the United Nations Rules for the Treatment of Women Prisoners and Non-custodial Measures for Women Offenders (the Bangkok Rules).
