In its resolution 43/28, the Human Rights Council decided to extend, for a period of one year, the mandate of the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Syrian Arab Republic and requested the Commission to provide an oral update to the Council, during an interactive dialogue, at its forty-fourth session. In the same resolution, the Council also requested the Commission to provide it with a full report on the findings of its comprehensive, independent special inquiry into the events in Idlib Province and surrounding areas.
