Report of the Secretary-General on the implementation of
resolution 2005/42, integrating the human rights of women
throughout the United Nations system* **
Summary
This report is submitted pursuant to Human Rights Council decision 2/102. It contains a
summary of human rights treaty body activities aiming to promote gender equality and women’s
human rights and traces how various special procedures have addressed gender and women’s
rights issues in their respective mandates. The report also provides information on the work of
the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights on gender and women’s human rights, at
headquarters and in the field, and brief conclusions and recommendations pertaining to greater
protection and promotion of women’s human rights.
