Welcomes the steps taken to improve the humanitarian situation in Aleppo, in particular the humanitarian pause on 20 and 21 October 2016 and the relevant unilateral ceasefire, while strongly condemning attempts by illegal armed groups to upset the humanitarian evacuation of Aleppo; 2ter. Also welcomes the peace initiatives on the Syrian Arab Republic proposed at the discussions held in Lausanne, Switzerland on 15 October 2016, including the resumption of military consultations between the parties concerned in Geneva; GE.16-18292(E) 
