Report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for
Human Rights*
Summary
The present report is submitted pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 35/32,
in which the Council requested the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for
Human Rights (OHCHR) to prepare a compilation of good practices, challenges, lessons
learned and recommendations in mainstreaming human rights as enshrined in international
human rights law, into national policies, in order to contribute to the achievement of the
Sustainable Development Goals.
The report contains information on practices and experience from around the world
in mainstreaming human rights into national policies based on international human rights
norms and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. It is
based on research undertaken by OHCHR on global, regional and national experiences.
