In accordance with the procedure stipulated in paragraphs 52 and 53 of the annex to
Human Rights Council resolution 5/1, the appointment of special procedure mandate
holders will be completed upon subsequent approval by the Council. The mandate holders
in question will be appointed before the end of the forty-fourth session.
Report of the session

At the end of its forty-fourth session, the Human Rights Council will have before it
for adoption a draft report containing a technical summary of the proceedings of the
session.

Annual report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and
reports of the Office of the High Commissioner and the Secretary-General

All reports of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Office
of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the SecretaryGeneral are submitted under agenda item 2, which remains an open-ended item throughout
the session. The Human Rights Council will consider the reports under the relevant agenda
items, as appropriate. The specific timing of their introduction will be reflected in the
programme of work. Pursuant to paragraph 6 of President’s statement PRST OS/13/1
adopted on 6 December 2019, no general debates will be held during the Council’s June
session. Therefore, the reports or oral updates listed below will be considered during the
relevant general debates at the forty-fifth session, unless they are mandated to be
considered in the context of an interactive dialogue.
Annual report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 48/141, the Human Rights Council will
consider the annual report of the High Commissioner (A/HRC/43/3) in an interactive
dialogue.
Situation of human rights of Rohingya Muslims and other minorities in Myanmar

In its resolution S-27/1, the Human Rights Council requested the High
Commissioner to track progress concerning the human rights situation of Rohingya people,
and to provide an oral update, followed by an interactive dialogue, at its forty-fourth
session. The Council will hold an interactive dialogue on the oral update by the High
Commissioner.
Promotion and protection of human rights in Nicaragua

Subject to the adoption of the draft resolution of the Human Rights Council entitled
“Promotion and protection of human rights in Nicaragua” (A/HRC/43/L.35) at its resumed
forty-third session, the Council will hear the oral update by the High Commissioner on the
situation of human rights in Nicaragua at its forty-fourth session.
Situation of human rights in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela

In its resolution 42/4, the Human Rights Council requested the High Commissioner
to present to the Council, at its forty-fourth session, a comprehensive written report on the
situation of human rights, including the outcomes of the investigation on the ground into
allegations of possible human rights violations of the human rights to life, liberty and
physical and moral integrity in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, to ensure the
accountability of perpetrators and redress for victims. The Council will have before it the
report of the High Commissioner (A/HRC/44/20).

Reference is made to the comprehensive written report of the High Commissioner
on the situation of human rights in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, with a special
focus on the independence of the justice system and access to justice, including for
violations of economic and social rights and the situation of human rights in the Arco
Minero del Orinoco region (A/HRC/44/54) (see para. 80 below).
