At the 1st meeting, on 2 December 2011, the United Nations High Commissioner
for Human Rights made a statement.

At the same meeting, the Human Rights Council listened to a pre-recorded statement
read by the independent expert in the field of cultural rights, Farida Shaheed, on behalf of
all special procedures mandate holders, at the request of the Coordination Committee of
Special Procedures.

Also at the same meeting, the chairperson of the Independent International
Commission of Inquiry on the Syrian Arab Republic, Paulo Pinheiro, made a statement.

At the same meeting, the representative of the Syrian Arab Republic made a
statement as the concerned country.
