Report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for
Human Rights*
Summary
The present report, which covers the period from 1 December 2018 to 30 November
2019, provides an overview of human rights concerns in Cyprus, including in regard to the
right to life and the question of missing persons, the principle of non-discrimination,
freedom of movement and the right to seek asylum, property rights, freedom of religion or
belief and cultural rights, freedom of opinion and expression, and the right to education. In
the report the importance of a gender perspective in relation to the peace process is also
emphasized.
