Summary
The present report contains a summary of discussions and recommendations of the
seminar entitled “A human rights approach to combating human trafficking: challenges and
opportunities. Implementing the Recommended Principles and Guidelines on Human
Rights and Human Trafficking,” held in Geneva on 27 and 28 May 2010, in accordance
with Human Rights Council resolution 11/3 on trafficking in persons, especially women
and children. An addendum (A/HRC/15/27/Add.1) provides a compilation of the views of
stakeholders on the Recommended Principles and Guidelines on Human Rights and Human
Trafficking developed by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, as
requested in the same resolution.
