Promotion and protection of all human rights, civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, including the right to development Economic, social and cultural rights The human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation 44. In its resolution 42/5, the Human Rights Council decided to extend the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation for a period of three years, and requested the Special Rapporteur to continue to report, on an annual basis, to the Council. In the same resolution, the Council requested the Special Rapporteur to compile good practices at the local, national, regional and international levels in order to promote the progressive realization of the human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation, and to report thereon to the Council at its forty-fifth session.
