Summary
The present report summarizes the proceedings of the annual half-day panel
discussion on the rights of indigenous peoples, held at the thirty-ninth session of the
Human Rights Council. Pursuant to Council resolution 36/14, the panel discussion focused
on the means of participation for and the inclusion of indigenous peoples in the
development and implementation of strategies and projects in the context of the 2030
Agenda for Sustainable Development and related Goals.
The report contains summaries of the opening statements and of the panellists’
presentations, and the highlights of the interactive discussion that followed.
