Level of implementation and observations (to be completed by the WGEID) at OMP As provided for in its Interim Report and Annual Report the OMP has sought to operationalise its mandate in a manner that upholds the rule of law and recognises the centrality of the rights of the missing and disappeared and their families.49 In addition, the OMP has been guided by the recommendations of the Final Report of the Consultation Task Force on Reconciliation Mechanisms which captures the views and concerns of the public concerning the design and implementation of transitional justice mechanisms and policies. 50 See also response to recommendation 79(g). Amnesty Amnesty International wrote an op-ed on the OMP’s operations.51 Centre for Justice and Change There is divided opinion among victims in accepting/rejecting the OMP. OMP need to get wider consultation with victims and civil groups to formulate procedures, policies etc. Consultation need to be ongoing. Families of the Disappeared From the beginning we demanded that a committee of the family members should be formed to work with the OMP. OMP agreed in every discussion, we had.
